Product Description

PEWVIEW CARBON FIBER REINFORCED HEAT SHIELD (comes with every new PewView Handguard rail system)

The newly improved Ranger Point Precision carbon fiber reinforced heat shield installs onto the front of every PewView handguard rail. Designed in collaboration with Nick Johnson aka @_pewview_ to accommodate his shooting style: C-Clamp Grip (Thumbs-Forward). This heat shield ONLY works with PewView M-LOK Handguard rail systems and PewView stock sets.

The Heat Shield is made from high-performance composite materials, engineered by combining carbon fibers with a polymer matrix (often epoxy or thermoplastic) to stay cooler and for extreme strength, high stiffness, and low weight. This material and mold process is primarily used in aerospace, automotive, and high-end sporting goods. Stainless steel threaded inserts slide into the underside to screw the heat shield onto the top of the PewView M-LOK Handguard Rail and to attach one end of the receiver mounted, full length picatinny rail.

Carbon fiber reinforced material and manufacturing process provides parts that have superior stiffness and weight savings while staying cool longer; where as aluminum can heat up quickly; whereas fiberglass offers higher impact resistance and lower cost; and DT (often referring to "Dry Technology" or Dry Carbon) signifies a premium, pre-impregnated composite.

Key characteristics:
  • High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Extremely lightweight while offering high tensile strength, reducing weight by up to 50% compared to traditional materials like aluminum.
  • Corrosion and Heat Resistance: Superior resistance to chemicals and environmental degradation.
  • High Modulus: Excellent stiffness, making it ideal for structural applications.
  • Conductivity: Electrically conductive compared to glass fiber alternatives.
