  • 12Gather your cleaning supplies: cleaning solvent, lubricant/gun oil, bore brush, patch holder and patches, cleaning rod, nylon cleaning brush, flash light, cotton swabs, microfiber cloths for polishing.
  • Unload your gun. Check and double check. Never consider a gun unloaded until you have verified it by looking through the barrel.
  • Disassemble your gun - but only as much as the manufacturer recommends.
  • Always clean your gun in a well-ventilated area. Outdoors is best, when possible.

  • Clean out the barrel with a cleaning rod and patches.
  • Alternate the bore brush and patches to get the cleanest barrel.
  • Lubricate the barrel.
  • Clean and lubricate the gun’s action.
  • Wipe down the rest of your gun.
